Terms of Service
The rules for using the Our Own Nine founding beta.
Effective August 1, 2026 · Version 2026-08-01
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you access or use Our Own Nine (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are legally able to agree to these Terms.
2. Founding beta
Our Own Nine is a free, experimental fantasy-baseball service operated as an independent fan project. Features, scoring, schedules, player information, and availability may change as the product develops. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Women’s Professional Baseball League (“WPBL”).
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information, keep your password confidential, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access through the support page. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from a failure of our systems.
Do not create accounts for another person without permission, impersonate others, or use automated means to create accounts or interfere with the Service.
4. Fantasy gameplay
The Service may include drafts, lineups, roster transactions, trades, standings, and scoring. Published statistics or fantasy results may be delayed, corrected, recalculated, or reversed when source data or application behavior is corrected. League commissioners receive only the powers shown in the Service and may not override platform-level security or scoring controls.
Our Own Nine does not currently offer entry fees, cash prizes, wagering, or gambling. You may not use the Service to organize unlawful betting or paid contests.
5. Acceptable use
You may not:
- harass, threaten, defraud, or abuse another person;
- post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringing content;
- probe, attack, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security controls;
- use another person’s account or collect information about other users without permission;
- disrupt drafts, transactions, scoring, or other league activity; or
- use the Service for commercial promotion or spam without permission.
6. Names, posts, and other user content
You retain ownership of content you submit, such as display names, team names, league names, and message-board posts. You grant us a limited, nonexclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
You represent that you have the right to submit your content. We may remove content or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
7. Intellectual property and third-party information
The Service’s original software, design, and branding belong to its operator or licensors. Player names, team names, league names, statistics, trademarks, and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners. Reference to third-party material does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, deployments, network failures, data corrections, security events, or circumstances outside our control may cause delays or downtime. Do not rely on the Service as the sole record of time-sensitive activity.
9. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, noninfringement, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be waived.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service’s operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost opportunities, or fantasy outcomes arising from use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is currently free, aggregate liability for a claim relating to the Service will not exceed $100, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through support. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, security risks, unlawful conduct, extended inactivity, or discontinuation of the Service. Some records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The page will show the effective date and version. When a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice and may require renewed acceptance.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the support page.
